Hideki Kamiya was born in Matsumoto in Japan’s Nagano prefecture in 1970.
Throughout his career, he’s directed Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Okami, Bayonetta, and The Wonderful 101.
On Bayonetta 2, Bayonetta 3, Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, and Sol Cresta, Kamiya served as executive director, supervising each project and taking charge of their stories and scripts.
His career in game development took him from Capcom and Clover Studio to PlatinumGames.
As of October 2024, he serves as Studio Head and Chief Game Designer of CLOVERS Inc., where he's currently directing the Okami sequel project.
