Studied physics at the University of Prague. One of the leaders of the 1989 student movement that contributed to the fall of the communist regime in Czechoslovakia.
In 1990, developed the first Czech pen-and-paper fantasy RPG, Dragon’s Den, and founded the board game publishing company ALTAR.
Since 1997, has worked in computer game development. Founded and led ALTAR Interactive, which developed Original War and UFO: Aftermath. Later worked at Bohemia Interactive Studios as executive producer for Armed Assault (ARMA I), and at Codemasters as producer for Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising.
In 2011, co-founded Warhorse Studios in Prague with Daniel Vávra. Served as executive producer for Kingdom Come: Deliverance (2018) and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (2025). Warhorse was acquired by Embracer Group in 2019.
Married, with three daughters. His wife, Vilma Kadlečková, is a popular science fiction writer.
