Speakers Info

Shinji Mikami is a Japanese game designer.

As a director and producer, he created numerous hits such as the 'Resident Evil' series and 'The Evil Within' series.

Mikami began his career at Capcom Co., Ltd. in 1990 after graduating from Doshisha University.

During his tenure at the company, he worked on games such as Disney's 'Aladdin' and 'Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney'.

In 1996, Mikami released the first 'Resident Evil' game, which became a critical and commercial success.

Not only did this game play a pivotal role in popularizing the survival horror genre, but it had a profound impact on the entire gaming industry.

Following that success, he went on to Clover Studio, a subsidiary of the company, where he directed and produced a variety of game titles in various genres, including horror, action, and

adventure.  He left the studio in 2005.

In 2010, Mikami founded his own game company Tango, which became part of ZeniMax Group and changed its name to Tango Gameworks in October of the same year.

Under his studio, he directed the survival horror game 'The Evil Within' in 2014. Later he served as Executive Producer for 'Ghostwire: Tokyo' and 'Hi-Fi Rush'.

After departing from Tango Gameworks earlier this year, he is revitalizing his creative spirit for his next project!
